7 Fireplaces We Love

Curling up by the fire on a cold winter’s night is the best. Here are seven of our favourites that have been featured in the pages of Home & Cabin magazine.

Everything about this room space screams antique, including the fireplace. But take a closer look – that’s an electric fireplace insert. While it may not be authentic, it does a great job of fitting the look of the home while still providing heat, even if that heat doesn’t come from a flame.

On the other end of the design spectrum we have this contemporary beauty. The propane fireplace, perfectly sized to fit the available space, has an understated look that doesn’t detract from the art above it.

Fireplaces are great for creating a focal point in a room, and this herringbone tiled beauty is a great example of doing just that.

Woodburning fireplaces may require a little more work than their propane counterparts, but nothing beats the crackling sound and smell of real wood burning in the fireplace. And as a bonus, it’s a way to show off your wood storage rack.

This fireplace may or may not be functional, and it doesn’t really matter. The main job of this fireplace is looking good. And it does a great job of that in this stylish space.

This traditional home isn’t that old, but its classic look gives a nod to Victorian style with its large, detailed fireplace millwork.

What’s better than a fireplace in a room? The same fireplace in two rooms, of course. This propane burning unit has glass walls on the front and back, and can be enjoyed from this room or the family room on the other side.
