Join us as we visit the home of Sara Kirby, owner of Mod & Stanley interior design, to see her Christmas decorations.
This hall table in the front entry was once a piano. A very old, faded and worn piano. Sara brought the auction find home and, with the addition of a tabletop and two back legs, transformed it into a hall table. But it still had that old, faded look and not in a cool, shabby-chic sort of way. It needed a refresh. With FAT Paint in hand, Sara redid the table in this calm pink colour. Books are a big part of Sara’s decorating aesthetic, and she also prefers natural greenery to artificial when creating a seasonal look.
A long garland is the sole Christmas decoration above the fireplace. The gentle arc is a nice touch, making it look effortless yet elegant.
The garland reaches nearly to the floor, framing the wood-burning fireplace in greenery.
Sara prefers the look of real greenery in her home, like this Nova Scotia Christmas tree.

That rug. That painting. Those chairs. That bar cart. Everything about this dining room is lovely.
And the place setting is on point, too.
The Christmas spirit flows into the family room, too.
